Hi ladies!!  So my fiance and I have the triple package with Comcast.  It seems like they are raising our bill every month.  We were thinking of switching to Verizon.  What do you ladies have and would you recommend the switch?  Maybe I'll add a poll.

How strange! I have never once been in a contract with Comcast, and neither have my parents. I wonder if your area is different, like they took over another company but kept some of their policies? I'm sorry you've had this many problems with them!

Yes, I told the woman that I wanted to be connected to the area where they can discontinue my service and that I would go through Verizon.  That didn't work.  Verizon has a 1 year contract.  Comcast had us on a 2 year contract and we renewed our contract with them but now breaking it.  Verizon is coming out here to install next Thursday so then we'll call Comcast.

I'm with Time Warner and with digital cable + to of their tier packages, internet and phone we pay $129.99 a month.

I would not recommend coming to Time Warner. every day I lose phone, internet and cable due to sun spots. I'm not talking a few minutes I'm talking hours.

Digital cable is not worth it.

I've never heard of contracts with Comcast either, must be a different area. But I like comcast so much better, we had verizon for a long tme and they always messed up our bill. In fact I have 180 dollar mark on my credit from Verizon that I don't owe them. They billed me for this amount at one point, I said this isn't accurate, called spoke to someone who told me that I absolutely did not owe the money, they had mistakenly generated a duplicate bill, six months later it's on my credit as unpaid debt. I dislike Verizon very much, this was not the only incident I had with them of that nature. I never have that trouble with comcast.

This has been bugging me for a little bit, the whole contract part. So I looked up on their website to see if they ever mention contracts.

http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ/FaqDetails.ashx?Id=2783&fss=contract

On that page, talking about their voice package, it says specifically that they do NOT have a length-of-service contract.

So I just wanted to throw that out there, in case for some reason when you call back to cancel, they make any claims of breaking contract fees.

I'm sorry this has all been a big pain in the butt for you. I almost want to call in for you and see if I got the same response, that's how much it's bugging me, and I HATE talking on the phone.

We have AT&T in our area. We never have issues with our DSL. For TV, we have Direct TV. Both are extrememly reliable, IMO.

My fiance seems to think we're under contract and if you break it you owe money, so I am guessing someone told him that when he called them.  When he calls this week to cancel our service I'll see what happens.  If they mention any fees about a contract I'll print the page that you're talking about that states no contract and fax it to them.  LOL!

Hm... so is he the one who has been dealing with them? Does he have good negotiation skills? Ha. I really want to find out how this turns out, I can complain to my friend who works there about it for you.
