• Yes I use them all the time, they are great!!  You can use them the same day, you have a year to use them I think.  Some things to note:

  1.  Some restaurants will not include alcohol

  2.  You can only use one per party so you can't go with a friend who has one.

  
  3.  Most important.  Before you buy, read the small print under the certificate amount you choose.  The local O'Charleys buy me sells 25.00 and 50.00 ones.  For the 25.00 you have to spend at least 35.00 for the 50.00 you have to spend 100.00.

  4.  Gratity is automatically included with your bill.

  5.  They refill the certificates the 1st of the month, but towards the end of the month, they are cheaper but may be sold out.

• I buy from Restaurants.com also but I receive a discount and a rebate just for logging onto a shopping website.  It is awesome to alomos get paid to go out to eat. Same stuff applies........minimum purchase, gratuities, etc

• Yes, they are legitimate. Yes, read the fine print before buying. Sign up for their email; the discounts increase over the course of the month; we only buy the certificates when they are 80% off.

  yeah i had read that but then my question is... does that mean before the certificate (let's say the $25) do you have to spend $35 and then use the certificate making you only need to pay $10.. or do you have to spend the certificate plus at least $35 out of your pocket.. does that make sense???

• You spend it before (minus alcohol in some cases).  So your total bill has be at least $35.00, then you can use your $25.00 certificate and only pay $10.00!

• I feel  like I'm always in a "downer" mode.  But we have had 4 negative experiences with Restaurant.com.

  2 restaurants refused to take the slips, said they were "set up"; never agreed to anything.  We ended up having to pay full price for the meals.  The Oriental Restaurant was extremely upset and wanted us to tell him everything about how we got the certificate.   They went out of business shortly after.

  1 restaurant went out of business and the new one wouldn't honor the certificate

  1 restaurant had a beautiful write-up in Baltimore.   We went there after a show.   It had only 1 table, served nothing but nachoes and beer.   The great cuisine it advertised in the ad was nowhere to be found.  It said it had "elegant" dining.    I really don't consider a bar stool and nachoes "elegant"!!!!

  2 of these I complained and got another certificate, the other 2 they didn't.
