My DH and I's 1 yr wedding ann. is the day after christmas and we can't afford to go out. I have no clue what to make for our 1st wed. ann. dinner! Please ladies I need some suggestions!
How about an indoor picnic or indoor camping theme??? Tablecoth on the floor & fried chicken or hot dogs and smores.
Or you could do fondue and chocolate covered strawberries.
Fondue is a great idea. You could do a Cheese fondue for dinner and a chocolate one for dessert.
You could make the cheese fondue from scratch which is more expensive or just use a jar of cheese sauce found in the pasta aisle or a can cheese soup and doctor it up with hot sauce or add a little of the wine your gonna drink. Also add salt and pepper and more cheese if you want. The Alfredo cheese sauce works good too. Serve it with cut up and cooked chicken, sausage, or beef, broccoli, potatoes, soft bread cubes, or even pretzels. My family loves this but its elegant enough for an anniversary
As for the chocolate fondue melt the chocolate(any will work even chips) with milk or cream or half and half even coffee creamer works and a pat of butter. Serve with anything that goes good with chocolate. You could also add a splash of wine too your chocolate for a super decadent night.
No Matter what you eat cherish that first one cause the others just fly by and before you know it you at 10 and your like holy cow how did that happen. (at least that's what happened to me last month hehehe)
Happy Anniversary

I would ask his Mom! Mom's always know what thier son's favorite dish is! Maybe she has a special dish she always made him and you could ask her for the recipe!

We don't go out often, the kids don't usually let it happen unless it's fast food. lol! But he tells me that he loves everything that I cook and that really doesn't help me. I would do fondue but I don't have a fondue pot...lol! I just want our 1st ann. to be special.

No need for a fondue pot. I didnt have one for a few years and I still did it often. Just use a double boiler and take the whole thing to the table. If the cheese or chocolate starts getting hard just put the pots back on the fire for about 1 min and its ready to go again. Just wanted you to know that you dont need a fondue pot to have fondue.
