Ok, I must apologize b/c I've been neglecting this group.  We've been getting severla new members over the last week or so and I would love to see some new ideas and suggestions.  All suggestions are appreciated as long as they are constructive.

HI everyone ~ Newbie here!  I love the concept of this group and I think it's going to be great sharing ideas.  One idea I have always had was to take my daughters' baby clothes and make them into a quilt.  I save the favorite outfits and cut them into squares.  Unfortunately, I now have a pile of clothes to get to now!  Any thoughts or helpful hints are definitely apprecited.  I'm not a quilter so this isn't going to be a prize winning quilt by any means. Maybe only a blanket - LOL!  Any suggestions?  Thanks.  Looking forward to sharing with you all.

I can't wait to see this!  You should print pics of her on material and use that also with the dresses.

Why not separate by type of fabric or by color & type of fabric, etc.  Caution though, this may give you more ideas for projects, LOL!

Do you use a rotary cutter to cut your squares?  That may make the job go faster.  It was worth the investment in a good rotary cutter for me, and believe me...I can barely sew myself!

Also, try making the squares as large as you can, AND mix triangles in wherever you can to make the project go faster.  Make it fun for yourself to piece together a puzzle of sweet memories!

Rather than a blanket though, why not try some simple things that she can keep as she grows?  Pillows?  Simple stuffed animals (the flat variety...don't go fancy)

Hope this helps!

From a gramma!

Blessings,

Sylvia
