I just got my lab results today.  My A1C was 8.9.  I can't believe it's that bad!!!!!!!   I go to the doctor tomorrow.  I have no idea what she's going to do, but I imagine it will mean more meds.  Any suggestions what I should talk to the doc about?

Absolutely talk about getting better control. Even one small change each day WILL bring your A1C down, slowly....but it will come down. More meds may be an option, but lifestyle changes work GREAT too!

I chose insulin...I went from a 10+ A1C(diagnosed 08/2009 w/sugar 934) to a 5.2 (tested this past March). I also count my carbs and try to drink lots of water w/meals because it helps flush out the sugar.

You should count your carbs and make sure you excerise 30 minutes each day even if you have to do it in ten minutes pieces.
