we do the JDRF (juvenile diabetes research walk) to raise money for a cure. i went to the team captain luncheon yesterday and it was really nice.
you know when you go to a store like WaWa or Halloween Adventure and they ask if you wanna purchase a sneaker (the paper sneakers they hang on the wall with you name on it?) that's for JDRF. i'm sure most of you have seen them around and may not have even realized what they are for.
i didn't know that you can sell the sneakers yourself, JDRF supplies them to you. so i'm going to get a local store to sell them for me to raise money for our team 100% pure sugar.
we are also having those silicone bracelets made up with JDRF and our team name on them, i will post a pic when they come in. they are a great fundraising tool. and this year we are having a bowling fundraiser and my dd is having a bingo at her house. when we do the fundraising for the march of dimes walk that we do because our dd was a preemie my older dd sells candy at work and that's a great money maker but we didn't think it appropriate for the diabetes walk. lol
so i wanted to see if any of you do the walk and what kind of things you do to raise money.
here's a picture of a yellow sneaker on my folder (they come in yellow, red, green and blue)
thanks!

I do the walk in CO. Last year was my first year being on a team, the "Sharp Units" and it was a lot of fun! I'm not good at fundraising so the only thing I did was post a message on my facebook wall. I could not believe the responses I got and the people who donated. I raised over $500 with 1 post. I guess you never know who is affected by it and how!

i did give some fundraising ideas and would like to know if anyone else has some to share. i have to start a post for that.
