I have been having pain in my arms and hands for a month now. Sometimes it tingles and then goes numb. I have taken my blood sugar and it is always okay. What could this be? I was thinking maybe it was due to my diabetes but if my sugar levels are normal I am at loss. I am trying to stay away from the doctor but I may have to go now.

I am not positive but I think neurological problems are not necessarily a sign that your sugar is high but a result of having high blood sugars over a long period of time. I have had this kind of problem for at least a couple of years. Why are you trying to stay away from the doctor? This is definitely something he/she would want to know about, my doc checks in with me about this at least once/twice a year.
Sounds like diabetic neuropathy to me--and it doesn't just start, but actually develops over time until the symptoms become noticeable.
I would see your primary care doc/diabetologist who may refer you to a neurologist. I would also see a chiropractor. Sometimes nothing can be done for damage that has already occurred, but further damage could possibly be prevented.
