I have been having pain in my hands and arms for a month now. It feels tingly, numb and sometimes hurts. Could this be Carpal Tunnel? It doesn't feel like this everyday. Should I go to the doctor about this? I have checked my sugar levels and they have been normal. I was thinking maybe they were high or something but they haven't been.
There is also a condition called diabetic neuropathy that is a bit different. Definitely see your primary care doc who may refer you to a neurologist. The damage occurs over time before symptoms are noticeable. Damage done cannot usually be reversed, but further damage might be preventable. Also, a Chiropractor may be able to offer some relief. Naturopathic doctors may be able to help with supplements or nutritional changes, too.
I had problems with neuropathy in 2009 and it felt numb with an intense burning and itching sensation. I agree with Maggie....get to a doctor. It may be something as simple as a pinched nerve in your neck, or it could be neuropathy. You do NOT want to let this go. It's better to feel like a fool for overreacting than it is to lose a limb.
