What method of homeschooling do you use?

We use the Classical Method, following the trivium as described in Susan Wise Bauer's books, ommitting Greek mythology in the early years.  We learn history beginning in Genesis.

We are officially registered with Kolbe and Kolbe, which is a Catholic based homestudy school. It is fully accredited and will provide college prep starting in 6th grade. Very traditional, yet most courses revolve heavily around God.

We use Christian Liberty out of IL.  I know, I am such a traitor, ha ha.  It is really easy to follow and for my son who is all about rules and schedules it is perfect.  My daughter just started on it and it seems to be working good for her.  We suppliment Sam's phonics with Hooked on Phonics.  Sam has a short attention span, and needs lots of hands  on or musical stuff to learn so this works better for her.

*I* was homeschooled with Christian Liberty out of Illinois! For my ds, we're using McRuffy for phonics, handwriting, and math; Sonlight for science; Building Thinking Skills from the Critical Thinking Company for thinking skills; and lapbooking with living books for history. (Ds is in K this year.)

Does anyone have any experience in creating their own cirriculum?  I recently had two kids from church stay with us for a few weeks and their parents put together the cirriculum themselves and it seemed effective.  Does anyone have any experince with this?

Well, if you mean writing and creating curriculum, that's not for me; but we use a little of this, a little of that.  I love to explore and take what I like from different perspectives.  For example, for history we've decided to use (for now) the Veritas Press cards as a "spine," simultaneously reading Story of the World by Bauer, and reading the Bible starting in Genesis.  One week may be simply reading and reviewing verbally, the next week I might feel inspired to do a project.  Variety is the spice of life, right!

I don't really have "experience" persay as we are just starting out homeschooling, but I have been doing that to plan out curriculum for us.  I have been using a big combined curriculum book for grade levels, as well as a few enhancement workbooks and then just building a curriculum and acitivities around that.  I am having a blast doing all of this too, even though it sounds like a lot of work!

I was homeschooled through ABeka's video schooling.

For preschool we'll be using bits of different things. I'll be starting next week. Starting in Kindergarten we'll be using a virtual program like K-12 or at least that is the plan as of now. ;)
