How are the kids doing?

So how does everyone's kids like homeschooling?  Is it all they've ever known, and no big deal?  Have they gone kicking and screaming?  Are they flourishing, or struggling?  What's your biggest challenge?

Homeschool is all my kids have ever known.  When we have bad days they say they want to go to regular school.  They have know idea how good they have it.  Sometimes, I am tempted to just put them in school so they can appreciate how good homeschool is!  For awhile I wasn't sure if homeschooling was for us.  Well, mostly for my son he is real stuborn sometimes!  But I think we have found our grove now.  My daughter, Sam, just starting this year, so far it has been pretty easy.  Our biggest problem is that she finishes with her stuff before Zach does and gets really bored.  Bored little girl = TROUBLE.  She tends to interrupt while I am teaching Zach because she is so bored and what I am teaching him is usually over her head.  All in all, I will have to say my kids are doing great.  I sometimes don't realize how much more they are learning here at home than in school until they get together with their friends who do attend school and my kids are so much more ahead of them academically.  At least in the district we are in.

I am amazed at how much the kids love learning at this age, I hope it lasts!  The look on their face when they succeed is priceless!  Hubby sat down with our first grader today for quite a long time and worked tirelessly on her handwriting.  It has really been poor, and I get so frustrated with her sometimes.  She finally came and found me at the end of the afternoon, and showed me the most beautiful paragraph that she had written all by herself, and her smile couldn't get any bigger!  It was very touching.  She does however ask more often than I'd like about going to public school because all of the neighborhood kids go.  I'm hoping she someday realizes the blessings of homeschooling.
