Anyone have any reccomendations??
It really depends on the age and level of play for your child. For instance, my niece is 5 and just plays on weekends (with one practice a week) so the least expensive brand at Academy would be fine. My girls though (17 and 14) play select and for the highschool and wear them 5 days a week. I always buy them really good shoes and they last about a year , sometimes a yr and a half. I try to buy them when they are on sale. If I can get them on sale for $100 (reg $129 or something like that) I feel lucky!
Good luck!

I have to agree... it depends on the level of play!! You can get youth cleats at Target, Wal-mart or Khols for about $20. (see link below)
If kids are playing at the high school level you have to get them into good shoes...poor footwear can cause all kinds of foot, ankle, knee and low back conditions!!

I always am checking Garage Sales or Play it again sports (or what ever sports store you have around there)
BUT...my kids are under 10 :) The picture of your baby is Adorable!!
Good idea for somethings, but be careful of wearing previously warn shoes. Each person has a different wear pattern in the way they walk, so they wear out different parts of the soul/shoe.
Wearing another's shoe for athletics can set up your child for an ortho condition or injury including, but not limited to, pain or injury to the feet, ankle, knee and low back.

My son is 8 and loves soccer. He plays on a travel team-practice twice weekly and then one game per week. I used to get him inexpensive shoes (before the travel team), but he complained they hurt his feet. I have since started going middle of the road...spending about $40-$50. He hasn't complained at all since. If he continues to play competitively, I will be spending more as he gets older. I find Modells usually has good deals and you can usually find a coupon.
