daycare in newport/north wilmington area

Hi everybody.  I'm expecting my first child in September.  As of right now I only have my 6 weeks leave.  There's a possibility that I might get a little longe leave unpaid but either way I will need a daycare sometime in the fall.  Any advice?  I'm very nervous leaving a 6 week old somewhere especially where they have every age up to 12 years old running around.  I know in home is better usually attention wise but I can't find any and don't know what to do to check credentials and whatnot.  I live in the new castle/newport area and work in north wilmington but would like something in between the two.
