Hi Ladies, my name is Erica and I have two kids, Luke is almost three and Paisley is eight months. I love to write and have always made up stories and written little poems. I would love to be a writer and I have been lucky enough to marry a man who also loves to write and is a talented writer and artist. Our dream is to live on a farm, grow veggies, raises a mess of kids and write books. We'd also like to help people along the way. I am excited to join a group of like minded Ladies and I look forward to chatting with everyone. I hope you all have a great day and good luke with your books!

Hi-I'm Julie and I love children's books . I had a collection long before I had children to read them to. Now, at forty, I'm taking writing classes and drawing and painting like crazy again. What  a joyful thing to find this group. I would love to visit and connect with others who write and illustrate or who are working towards that.  I have a long way to go.

Hello, my name is Leah. I am the mother of five children. I love to read and I have always wanted to write for kids also I want to illustrate my own books. I have spent the last six years writing my first children's book. I finished it a couple of months ago and don't know what to do now. I would love advice.

Hi, I am Christina, I live in CA with my husband Mike, my 3 kiddies and my cat Splatt. I have written stories and illustrated since I was a little one. I want to know how other moms find the time and peace of mind to write. I love stories, and want to tell many but Life has tied me up!

Hi Leah and welcome to the group!

If you think it is ready to go to publishers, then you'll need to write a good cover letter. I think I may write a post about cover letters today as so many people want information about them, so look for that. I think I'll also write a group post  to answer the what to do next question, so look for that too! It'll also the give other publsihed authors a chance to give their ideas

We'll get this question answered for you!

Best,
Marlo

Hi Christina, thanks for joining!

I do it by getting up before everyone else and going to bed after everyone else. Before my daughter started pre-school I also did it when  she was napping.

The first thing I do every day is make a list of my targets and have to's for the day: everything goes on there: do the laundry, go to the post office, call my mother, go to school, reading practice with my daughter, 30 minutes on my book, finish manuscript critique 'X', finish homework, stay on my diet... etc etc. The list is pretty long by the time I'm done. I use this great program on my computer called Simpleology which is fantastic.

Once I've done that and eliminated the things that aren't; really necessary, I charge! But you'll notice that I scheduled 30 minutes on my book! Goal setting and prioritising are the way that work for me!

Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm 32.  I am married and have two wonderful children.  I've had an idea for a children's story for awhile now...I just don't know how to get it out of my brain and on to some paper!  This is also why I joined this group.  So that perhaps someone may post something that will help me!

Hi Lisa and welcome to the group!

I'm actually going to do some post of that nature very soon, perhaps today if I get time! We'll get you going!

Hi all I'm Kat.  I have 4 children ages 10, 8, 6 and 4.  I love to read and write.  I also love to write short stories for my children.  My husband has convinced me that I should see if i can publish a book so that is what I am working on now.
