Hi ladies! I have a good friend who lives in Lewisville and she is in a serious crisis. She has not been able to find a full-time job and her ex isn't able to pay the alimony (which wasn't court ordered). So she doesn't have the money to make her rent and she's got to be out ASAP. She doesn't have anywhere to go and is stressing out. She has 3 boys who she has shared custody and she doesn't have anyone to stay with. She's applied for Section8 but she's not getting the help fast enough. Does anyone have any idea how I can help? I don't live anywhere near her (I"m in Maryland) and I can't really do much at all.
Has your friend checked into Hud housing. There are different places that offer it. It is usually faster than section *. I am not that close to Lewisville either. Closer than you but I am about 2 hours away.I just don't know what is near her.
CCA said they can't help for about 6 weeks. But her kids' church paid her rent this month. She was advised that she should go to her local Legal Aid office as well and I'm trying to get her to go ASAP.
Thanks!
Tell her to check with Catholic Charities also and St. Vincent De Paul. I am in Lewisville, but I am not sure what all is here as I havent lived here but about a year. I thought about CCA and then saw your response. What kind of work does she do??
