I am 19, and had my daughter 11 days ago via emergency c-section. She was breech, and two and a half weeks early. She is happy and healthy now, but I am very emotional. I was so set on my husband cutting the cord, and me being the first to hold her. I know things don't always go as planned, but I'm just sad about it. I don't know how to talk to my husband about it either. I don't know if he would understand, or just think I'm being too emotional (because I definitely was while pregnant!!) I just need people who have had anything similar. No one in my family has has c-sections, so I don't have anyone to talk to about it.

Welcome. Congratulations on your new baby. It's normal to have feelings like this. Perhaps your husband is a bit Shell Shocked as well since it was an emergency c-section. I'm sure he will understand.

Congrats! I have so many feelings about having my C-section so I totally understand. I have been so upset about it and also planned on this going a certain way. I dont even remember seeing my baby afterwards & felt like nothing went the way I wanted. I would just talk to your husband and let him know how you feel. I did and he is so supportive. Good Luck!

Yup. I knew three days before having my daughter that I was going to need a c section because she was frank breech. I remember crying on the phone to my mom and being depressed. I had told my dh all through my pregnancy that that was the one thing I would never ever want to go through. And as most woman had skipped all the chapters and info about c sections. I was dead set on having a beautiful natural labor with no meds.

Mine was planned and went great but, I still get down about it every now and again. I wonder what it would have went like had it been natural.

We just have to be thankful. Many women can't have children of their own so how can we complain?

I'm doing better! Just at my 6 wk pp chech my doc said that the local hospital doesn't do vbacs. And he said if they did he would let me because it was only because she was breech. I dilated fine and everything. So now I have to decide what I want to do in the future but I have plenty o time for that!! Just enjoying my baby girl and visiting home this week!! :)
