So I had my second c-section 6 months ago tomorrow and the area is still having tons of pain. Its more to the right side and feels like its torn on the inside. I have been to the hospital around 3 times now because the pain has gotten too intense. I have another appt for the doctor on Friday to see what we will need to do to stop it. I have had someone tell me it's scar tissue growing and causing the pain. I'm so worried about having the surgery and having no help when recovering from it. :(
Anyone ever have this happen to them?
Aside from an infection (most likely you would have caught this months ago) it does sound like it is scar tissue that is pulling.
Do you know if your OB noticed excess scar tissue during your 2nd c-section? Sometimes they comment on this. It could be you are one of those women that scars up a lot, it's actually pretty common. Sometimes scar tissue has been known to actually fuse organs together, like your uterus and bladder. Doctors call scar tissue "adhesions" and when it's pulled or stretched it is very painful.
I don't know what a doctor could offer you except to go in a remove the excess scar tissue, but if you are a person that creates too much scar tissue this seems like a waste of time.
You might want to look into what's known as Mayan Abdominal Massage, and also there is a more aggressive massage (not sure the name right now). these are designed to help break up that tissue without creating more scar tissue. It could help.
Good luck
Im almost 5 months PP & still get stabbing pains on the right side also. I hope you feel better soon:)
