Alimony question

Hi,

I have a "legal" question.  My ex has to pay me alimony (it's called "maintanence" in my state actually).

It's in our settlement that he pays unless I'd get remarried someday.

Anyway,,,, there is a chance my ex will move to another state in the next few years, (he'd be moving 1/2 across the county!!).

Does anyone have any advice or experience with regards to this type of situation??

Bluntly put,, I do not want him to get out of paying the alimony just because he lives far away.

Thank you

I barely get child support, I have no advice or experience.  Call your lawyer.

I live in new jersey and I have Almony for 7 years unless I remarry , in which case it ceases. Check your divorce decree. There should be no mention of location changing the guidelines unless one of you go back to court. Changing states should have no bearing on alimony unless it is clearly stated in decree.
