The Varsity baseball team at my son's school has been selected to be the game of the week, here in Illinois. We are playing Tuesday, in a double header that will be televised live on cable. My son Jake is the starting Centerfielder, and my youngest son ( a freshman) Alex is being brought up to play shortstop. It's a brother act. It get's better. They get to play at the minor league stadium, and use the dugouts, and the training room and all the perks. This is huge, my guys are stoked. Wish them luck. We start playing at 5 c.st. tomorrow, so everyone please offer up a little prayer that nobody strikes out on t.v.
I love baseball. Go Knights.

Mother of Victoria......my very talented 20 year old NT college junior and Marissa........ my NT 15 year old angel ........thank God for her! ........and Marcus ........my 7 year old Aspie who makes every day an adventure!
My 15 year old also plays baseball. He would kill for an experience like that. WHOOHOO!!! I bet you are a proud mama! When they go up to bat don't you always say a little prayer "please don't let him strike out"! Even when the pitcher hits them with the ball and they have to take a base I always say out lout "OMG...is he hurt? No, he's fine thank goodness". Then to myself "whew...at least he didn't strike out". Aren't we great moms. GO KNIGHTS!!!!!!!!
We Won. 3-0. Both played great and nobody struck out. Jake had 2 doubles and a walk. He made six outs in centerfield. Alex had a double and 2 singles he caught 3 bouncing grounders with great throws to first base all for outs.
It was a really exciting game, most of the school was there. The manager of the stadium and the guys from the cable station that pick the game of the week all commented on how great the kids were and the fans. They asked both athletic directors if they would like to make this a yearly televised event. Both said yes.
That says a lot about all of the kids. The parents had a great time, even though it was 40 degrees out. I had snot running down my face. The Kane County Cougar mascot ran sausage races with our mascot and St. Francis's. We had the big overhead announcer calling the game and real umpire's.
Both sides hit the ball long and hard. The centerfield wall was 323 feet. My son caught a lot that was way out there. It was an awesome game and a great night to just be with my sons.
