we are checking in on dec 21 and checking out on dec 26. we got a 5 day park hopper...and the dining plan...i know we will be there technically 6 days, so only 5 days of actual park visits...but what about dining ... how does that work...when it says per day...do they mean the 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26th since we are checking out on the 26th or does it really stop on the 25th. HELP! I think I am making this more complicated than it is.

Your dining credits will be activated at check in, then you can use them anytime until midnight on the day of check out. You are staying 5 nights, so you have 5 "sets" of credits for each person. A set is, for instance, if you got the table service plan...1 sit down meal, 1 counter and 1 snack. so each person will have 5 sit downs, 5 counters and 5 snacks. These can be ysed at anytime in any order during your trip.

For instance you could on the

21st eat 1tableservice and get 1 snack per person

22nd eat 2 counters per person

23rd eat 1 table, 1 counter and 1 snack per person

24th eat 2 table services each person

25th 2 counter services 2 snacks

26th 1 table service 1 snack

Thats just an example. You can mix and match anyway you see fit. Remember when you make your ressies that some table services are worth 2 table credits.

Also rememebr that you do not have to use credits at every meal. We found that by sharing some counter services we saved many credits and were able to eat breakfast a couple mornings using the saved credits.

It's a lot to take in, hope this helps.

The above post is absolutely correct so I can't really add to that other than to tell you how we use the plan.

We usually eat breakfast in our room (the kids have cereal while we're getting dressed) and then we eat counter service for lunch and have a sit down dinner (although sometimes we have a character breakfast and counter service dinner that night).

We usually arrive in time for dinner so we use that day's counter service meal on our last day and get a counter service meal from the resort to eat in the airport.  We usually have snacks left over too so we go to the store in the resort and buy boxes of Mickey Mouse cookies or pretzels to take home with us when we check out.

We did a similar thing in May 2008 as this poster below.  Ate breakfast in the room every morning except one where we had food court breakfast.  We had one night's worth of meals we didn't use the first day we arrived because we planned to use the Hard Rock Cafe voucher towards dinner and ate McDonald's as we pulled in to Disney around lunch time.

Disney Dining Plan is the best...be sure to take advantage of the reservation service. Reservations in advance are the best way to make sure you are able to eat where you want when you want.

The in park dining experiences are the best and offer so many different options casual to dress. Some of the restraunts are a little bit higher in price so you would use two table services for each sitting instead of the one. We will sometimes pay for what we think our cheapes sit down dining will be in order to save the addition table service for the higher end places.

We usually stay at the Disney Vacation club resorts like Saratoga Springs or the Animal Kingdom Villas so our room always has a Frig, and stove....a good idea is to hire a car service for you ride from the airport to the hotel, they usually allow you one stop and you can use that stop for a trip to the local super market...stock up on snacks, water bottles and breakfast items. When you get to your resort they will hold your items in frig until your room is ready for check in. Most of the vacation club resorts offer you the option to shop prior to your arrival and they will have all ordered items in frig. when you get your room.

These are all just suggestions I am sure you will find something that works best for you.
