I'm hoping to get married in November. Nothing will be for sure until probably next month, I have my dress picked out, tho, so I'm hoping the rest won't be too bad.
I did my first wedding by myself and it was beautiful, it was a church wedding but this time I don't know if I want that or a venue. Do you think it's too late to try to find a venue?
Btw, both of us are divorced. His first wedding was in his moms living room.

You should be able to find a venue and at a pretty good price. Although fall weddings are becoming more popular, November is considered to past the "wedding season" so you should be able to find some really good deals. However, keep in mind that if you will have out-of-town guests the air fare and hotel rates will be inflated due to the Thanksgiving season.

There will be a couple of out of town guests but they're all driving. As far as hotels go, either mil or fil and stepmil will be staying with us, so there should only be 1 room needed. It all depends on if my out of state family comes, though.

You can have a really nice wedding at a hotel, and if you purchase enough in food and beverages you migh be able to get the room rental reduced or for free. Don't be afraid to ask.

OK. More ideas:

  • park with a gazebo
  • a historic house
  • botanical gardens
  • small chapel
  • a restaurant with a wine cellar (very intimate and romantic)
  • aquarium
  • local zoo
  • bed and breakfast
  • some place special to you two (i.e. where you had your first date, place he propsed, etc.)

That's all I've got for now (not bad for 20 seconds).
