My darling and loving Husband is our Photographer and he is Awesome!!Not only does he do weddings but he does landscaping, he also does modeling (head shots), family portaits, and much more!!!! My little sister isn't into the wedding side as much but she does help with some of the Thank you cards and the invitations ( we do customer inventions). We also do flowers, bridal showers, bridal lunches and brunches. and much much more..
My sister handles the Kid's party planning she specialize in ages 3-8!

I just found this group and I wanted to introduce myself, I am Nikki Yates I live in Amarillo TX and I am new to wedding planning right now just doing it out of my home and I specialize in doing it ALL! I do offer day and month of services but I don't prefer it! I also am REALLY goood at doing a FAB wedding for under 5,000!! My name is Jen and I am a church wedding coordinator just branching out into full wedding planning. I have been doing this for over 10 years. I sort of fell in to wedding coordinating/planning as I was the church secretary and many of the younger members started getting married. So, being the secretary for the church, I worked with all the couples on service information and ended up running rehearsals and day-of time lines (with an aging pastor and a 3 story church, it was easier for me to do the running).
Now, I work mostly with my mom, who is a pastor with three churches of her own, and run the rehearsals and day of for her. This week I have been asked to plan a military wedding for a young couple that are very close friends of my two stepsons. He's a Marine and she is Air Force. I look at both of them as family, so we all have a great time. They haven't set a date but it will most likely be in about 2 years since he has to make Corporal before he rates the Arch of Swords (and what bride wouldn't want that!). Luckily, I am married to a No LOAD Marine (no-longer-active-duty) and have been picking his brain.
I hope that I can learn many things from those of you with more experience than I have.
I've seen it all! From jean short weddings, to 4x wardrobe change Quinceara. (sp?) I've even had to actually call off a reception before! That was of course devasting for everyone involved. The best part is that I am also a rental consultant for one of the largest event rental companies in Texas! So I know anyone who is ANYone in the event business here in Austin and the surrounding areas. If I don't know them personally, I probably know someone who does. :D So if you need any guidance in that market, give me a shout. I also look forward to exchanging ideas and such in this group. I’m a new wife, mother to 1 daughter, and stepmother to 1 daughter. I am a Criminal Justice Major with a minor in Family Relations. Why am I telling you all this information I am sure you are wondering.

During the last couple of years I have had the thought of changing my career path, but I didn't know how much I really enjoyed the Wedding Field until I did my own. I little experience in planning weddings, but I have enrolled in Penn Foster Bridal Consulting Program, so I can better educate myself. However I can say I planned my own wedding alone down to the last detail. The only thing I needed help on was the day of the wedding. Which I ask you. What bride wants to be standing alone on their wedding day telling people where to go and what to do? I am ready to help you from start to finish, or if you just need the day of. I am also willing to help you set things up. (I.e. chair covers, linens, centerpieces, and etc) Two things that I feel that give me an advantage is that I live in Minnesota but I planned a wedding that was in Wisconsin. This was not easy, but very rewarding because of the people I got to meet, and that I did make my own programs and menus. Again not easy but rewarding because the wedding had my own personal touch. Another great thing is I am sure I can beat most prices. Most Planners start at $2500 and I am sure I can be much cheaper then that. I am here to make your day a magical one.
