Just wanted to know what you ladies think about Forex. I signed up for the practice account but haven't had time to try it out. It sounds kinda risky to me but sometimes that can be a good thing.
Hi I'm trying out a Forex account now. I signed up last night for my $50K practice account. I invested a total of $2.5K to test it out and woke up to a $600 gain. I'm going to keep trying it out and I'll keep posting with my experiences. Hopefully this pans out. It seems like a really good opportunity for me since my husband and I move around so often (military).
After an outstanding start I had about 3 days where it was nothing but big losses. But I kept the currencies I had invested in despite the massive losses and today I was able to sell 2 of them for a total profit (on these two currencies) of about $500. I've still got 2 that are doing poorly but I'm hoping that given some time they'll bounce back and I'll see a profit from them as well. I'm learning it's all about playing the game and being patient. So maybe I'll be more of a "week-trader" instead of a "day-trader" lol.
Hey ladies,
I am new to this forum and fairly new to Forex, but have been doing it for about a month now. I love forex and what it has to offer us moms that stay home. Anyhow if your curious about forex, I found that this website www.babypips.com is the best for explaining what it is and how it works. I am looking forward to hearing about everyones experiences.
Both my husband and I trade GBP/JPY. MY husband recently taught me how. Im doing ok. Im waiting for a specific lineup that happens ony a few times a week thats a no fail. But its all waiting. The hardest thing to do is wait for it, I keep doing things I shouldent b/c Im impatient. My husband is the same way but worse. He trades a lot more $ then I do so his swings are higher. He has lots of past experience. He's just getting back into it after a good 10 years of leaving the board of trade and Im doing what I can to pick up the how to.
I'm also impatient. I have about 10 other things going on while trading. I guess that's why I'm good at what I do! Yeah... I'm a day trader because I'm an adrenaline junkie! I'll admit it.... LOL Now, if I could only have some swing trade patience. I had so many stocks at the March low, but I was in and out once my profit hit $1000. I keep kicking myself because I should have bought Google when it was around $260 and held it until at least $400 :o) Ah......... if only we had a crystal ball..... If we end up in a W recession, then I'm taking full advantage of the next major dip. Of course... that would mean stomaching 700 down days!!!!!! Okay, I'll take a V shaped recovery instead :o)
Theres plenty of money to be had in a recession. Just do what I do be pessimistic and short sell.

According to the FOMC minutes today, the recession ended in August. If this is true.... I'd hate to start shorting now. I understand the concept, but I've never actually "shorted" a stock before.... it feels so pessimistic....
lol over indeed. I short sell all day long it works well. Im not into it for the long haul 45min is the longest I ever have a trade on. But I trade currency 1 lot at a time so I have to get in and out fast. That and what I trade is the most volitile of the currency securities trade. I dont trade regular stocks they move too slowly and dont trade enough volume. Being pessimistic shouldent bother you, its making money, believe me when I say they dont feel bad when they take it from you on the other end. Give it a shot you may find it more useful.
