The sperm donor of my wonderful son is now trying to see him. He doesn't pay child support. I do everything on my own. He's not even on the birth certificate. I go on the 1st to file for custody, visitation, and child support. Since I've now started this do I legally have to let him see our son, or inform him on how he's doing even? I'm sure I probably don't but at the same time how would that look in court? Not trying to sound childish but I'm 20 years old and have no idea how to go about any of this. He's living with his married girlfriend and her three children. The first one she doesn't have custody of and the other two she sees because she's still married to the father. He drinks and smokes all the time and has a bad temper. I don't want my child in that environment. How should I go about this?
Legally you dont have to let he see him until there is an order to do so. It wont make you look bad for not letting him see him, it will look bad for him not trying to see him until now. But keep track and let your lawyer know about his life stye and anything bad he has done now or in the past this will help limit his visitation if thats what you want. Good luck.
