If you have kids in school, check out the groups CafeMom just launched!  Looks like a great way to connect with mommies in your area!

Hi Everyone,

The kids are back at school now (or heading back soon), and we know that it can be hard to keep track of everything that is going on.  So to make it a little bit easier, CafeMom now has School Groups!

We've created a group for every K-12 school in the US (well, every one that we know of!) and we think that they will be a great way to get information about your kids' schools, stay in touch with other moms with kids at the same school, and have discussions about what is going on locally.  We do plan on adding pre-schools at some point in the future, and we already have lots of great homeschooling groups.

First, find and join your local school group.

Everyone on CafeMom knows how to participate in a group, but we would love your help in making these groups great.  We want to get every mom in America to join her kids' school group, as we think it can be a great way to discuss what's going on at the school. 

1. Start inviting other moms.  Each group has a lot of tools available to help you get other moms at the school to join.  We have email invites, flyers, business cards and more.  Plus the first 1,000 schools to request one can get a free printed kit of information directly from us!  This is the most important one of all - CafeMom has lots of members, but we need you to invite the moms you know from the school to join!
2. Add information to the group.  Having lots of great information readily available will make it very valuable to new members as soon as they join.  Even summarizing a lot of the information you might already have from school flyers and the calendar is a great way to start!
3. Be the Group Owner.  Having a great owner to coordinate the group, help invite, add information and just keep a general eye on things is important.

We think that School Groups will be a great addition to CafeMom and we hope all CafeMom members can help get them off the ground!
