Pregnancy
WI want to have some BH. Now I know ur thinking "wtf, why would anyone want that?" but hear me out. I'm 35 weeks along and havent had one single contraction. From what I understand BH is ur bodies way of preparing and practicing for child birth. why does my body not want to practice? I am a first time mommy and I kind of want to know what I will be up against! I want to have BH so I can sort of tell what labor will feel like. I want to practice my lamaze as well. I know every mommy on here is probably thinking I'm nuts but I need to know/ I dont like surprises and I want to know at least what labor will sort of feel like. I know BH arent as bad as labor but just a hint would be nice. I'm curious.
*UPDATE*
Wow, I feel really stupid now! I dont know why I thought those baby shows were real. I mean I guess I thought if u are having a baby you have better things to be concentrating on then screaming ur head off for the camera. Also My sisters friend said that labor was the closest she has ever come to feeling like she was gonna die (granted she had a home-birth with zero drugs or anything really and her labor was fast!) I took lamaze and they were even joking about how bad labor can be in one of the stages. I'm just so scared that if I decide to go natural and its too bad and I want an epi then it will be too late when I decide I want on (The hospital said when you start pushing they will no longer give you one). The closer I get the more anxious I become. I'm pretty good with pain but I mean this is really bad I hear like the worst pain felt in ur life. Any advice anyone? LOL I'm scared.

by ArmyMom2oneboy on Aug. 29, 2008 at 9:43 PMMost likely, you have had them for the majority of your pregnancy and just not realized it. Some people feel no pain with them at all, it is just a slight tightening of the uterus. You will probably feel them a lot more and a lot sooner with your later pregnancies. Don't worry though, you will be fine. Real contraction will start out slow and easy and build up so as to build you up. |

by LukeAllensMomma on Aug. 29, 2008 at 9:44 PMWhen I was pregnant with my son, I didn't have any BH either. I went throughout my whole pregnancy without knowing what I was up against. Now I know because if I"m not mistaking, I'm having them right now and plus I had them for 7 hours one day. I know how you are feeling because I wished I would have them when I was pregnant for the first tiem, I never had them though. good luck on the pregnancy! |

by lilpinkbunny on Aug. 29, 2008 at 9:45 PMI never had BH with my first son, and only occasionally with my second. Doesn't mean much tho, they are nothing like the real thing HAHA! Nothing in the world will prepare you for that. Just enjoy your time left and rest while you can because it is about to be all gone for a while ;-)

by doulala on Aug. 29, 2008 at 9:54 PMIt's common to not notice them. I remember during my pregnancies OTHER people would ask me if I was having a contraction, LOL! I said I didn't know~ would look down and see my tummy pressed inward. :-o hehe The knowledge of how to give birth without outside intervention lies deep within each woman. Successful childbirth depends on an acceptance of the process. ~Suzanne Arms An eye-opening & inspirational must-see, watch The Business Of Being Born here: |

by fallentears1986 on Aug. 29, 2008 at 10:00 PMLOL ok maybe I should restate this post. I knew that some ppl dont feel their contractions but I thought most everyone did. I guess what I want is painful BH that I know are there. I just really want the practice. Every time I tell someone I'm gonna TRY for a natural birth they look at me like I'm nuts. This scares me. also the whole baby shows with the mother SCREAMING her lungs out while giving birth scares me too. Is it really that bad? Now I'm worried. |

by momsangel143 on Aug. 29, 2008 at 10:07 PMYour uterus is contracting and practing throughout your pregnancy. It all depends on if you feel them or not. I did not feel them with my first, but I did with my second. |
