So, I'm a democrat or whatever but I respect everyone's beliefs and choices, What do u ladies think of Mccain's VP?  Do u think that this is the right job for a mother of a baby (also a special needs baby) that is that young?  She went to work 3 days after having the baby and being the VP of a country is A huge job, is she gonna be able to give her son the attention he needs from his mother and the country the attention we need, assuming that the Republican party won?  I just wonder where her focus will be....

I personally dont see how she could do it all effectively without one or the other suffering in some way, either that baby of hers or her job. Im not against moms working but I just wish more would wait until there babies were a bit older to do so, i know thats not always possible for some folks but I choose to stay at home with my kids so that I am the one to be there for them when they need love and care and so I dont miss any of the firsts and so that I can teach them and raise them up, not rely on someone else to do it for me or share it with someone else besides my hubby.

Eh, she is gonna do what she wants either way, I just hope she can effectivly juggle it all, it will be challenging im sure!

Liz :)

if mccain had picked a man with a new baby with down syndrome do you think the media and the rest of the world would really have cared and be making such a fuss over this topic??

It seems like she has a good supprt system with her family and if she does than I think she can handle it. I guess no one will actually know the answer to this question unless they win in November.

I think she'll be just fine.  Many women go to work with young children.  Nobody would even have an issue with this if it was a man.  I know the mom plays a different role than the dad, but obviously this family plays different roles and they do what works for them.

I kind of wonder the same thing. I am a democrat..but I REFUSE to vote for Obama. I watched her speech when McCain announced her as his running mate. She gave a great speech and I think she has good intentions, morals and values. Between the baby (didn't know he was special needs) and her daughter being pregnant, I wonder how devoted she'll be to either the family or to being a VP if McCain is elected. From what I understand, her husband stays home with the kids while she works though. I don't know. I doubt I will even vote since Hillary is no longer in it, but at the same time I don't like McCain but I don't want to see Obama win, for many reasons! Decisions, decisions.

exactly! I am so sick of hearing about how can she juggle things. It is such a double standard.

I as well am a Democrat, but i believe that Palin is just as capable to make these choices even though she has a baby at home, and who cares that she went back to work 3 days after delivery i went back 1 week after and that is because we cant all stay home and bask in the sun. Alot of woman have no other choice i know Palin might be able to stay home longer finacially but alot of us other moms cant and by you saying that i felt like you might be insisting that a  mother that just delivered is incapable of performing everyday task at work which is WRONG, as long as she doesnt strain herself or lift heavy objects....I have a 1 month old as well as a special needs child and i am the sole provider for my family just cause i am not in the spotlight people dont look at me and say Can She Really Perform To The Best Of Her Abillity!!( OH YES I CAN) I think they are giving her alot of BS and should lay off.........GO OBAMA!!

I think so I believe they (the republican party) would play it up first and all else would follow. JMO and i'm neither republican, democrat, nor any other party member.

I personally fear that if Mccain won, he would die soon after and she would be PRESIDENT... with an 8 month old special needs child, 4 other kids, and a grandbaby on the way. I think she has a lot on her plate with just her family, but it is her decision. Her family situation is not the only reason I think she is a bad pick for VP, she is also inexperienced.

And she posed in an American flag bikini holding a gun. Google it. It's hilarious.

I personally wouldn't vote for Mccain/Palin (whole 'nother topic here) because I disagree with both of them on a lot of the issues.
