Anyone get a correct BFP way later than the test says to check? UPDATE: I'm Pregnant!

I took a HPT this morning (the dollar store kind - Baby Test). When I checked it at 2 minutes and then at least 10 minutes after testing, it was negative. I had left it on the counter and just went to throw it away, and now there is a colored line there (not a white evaporation line). I just peed, so I doubt if I took another test right now it would be right. I'll have to wait until the morning to get morning urine. What do you think?

  • I would just re test. If a test sits to long it CAN change! I got a false positive that way once. I say do it again in the am.

  • I got a positive that way. I took a test in the morning and checked it right away and it was negative..well I finished getting ready and forgot to check it again (within the 10 minutes) and when I got home about 3 hours later it was positive..not an evap. line..like a real positive. So I tested again the next morning and watched it carefully. And it took 5 minutes to get a positive not the 3 the directions said. So I waited and tested a few days later and got a positive right away.

  • Hmm, then it could go either way! I can't wait until the morning to re-test! Anyone else have a story about this to share?

  • I got an accurate BFP that way!  I had test strips from early-pregnancy-tests.com.  I took one right away in the morning and waited the full 10 minutes it said, and it was still negative.  I went back and looked at it about 1/2 hour later and it had turned positive...So I waited a few more hours and took my last one, same thing.  I had DH stop after work and get a couple of First Response Early Results, I took one and it turned positive right away.  And I've since had it confirmed with my dr.

  • Any more stories? Right now it's 2 to 1! I'm on edge! I'm on day 32 of my cycle with no period. I've only had one period since I had my 13 month old, which was now 32 days ago. My cycle used to vary between 28 and 30 days.

Mine was the same way but I checked the next morning and when I saw the line I re-tested and got a +.
