My son has a chromosome deletion that has never been recorded 11q(21-23.3) which is the portion just above 11q24.
I wanted to write b/c my son just turned 5 in April- and he too is only able to speak with vowels and no consonant's. It can be very frustrating for both him and our family. We use sign, pecs, and just received a Dynovox which is a communication device (hoping this will be a tremendous help).

Welcome!
Are you in contact with any other JS families?

I haven't contacted any other JS families...b/c Adam's missing the portion of the 11q above 24. But it sounds as though they do have similiar "obstacles". It's just so nice to have others who understand the up and downs of a child w/ disabilities.
