I took a home test on wednesday and the line was so faint we could barely see it but when i had my blood test done (same day) they said it was negative. But a friend that works at the clinic said she checked my results and said it was negative because it was too early to tell or something but she really confused me. is it possible for a blood test to not show up for a while? AF was due to hit me on thursday and its now sunday for me and ive had nothing, not even spotting. weve been actively trying for 3 months and the disappointment is a lot to handle, i just want this to be positive already.

Did you try taking another hpt to see if it got any darker?

If AF is late, then a blood test should reveal accurately. Take another HPT to make sure. You could have had an early m/c, extremely common, like over 30% of early pregnancies end in m/c.

Hang in there. The average HEALTHY couple takes 8 months to conceive, you are just beginning. Take good care of yourself, chart your cycle and use OPK's and don't stress out.

Hubby and I have been TTC for TWENTY months and there are women on here who have been TTC even longer.

I highly recommend acupuncture if you want to encourage the process. Its got a high rate of success for fertility/pregnancy achievement.

Good luck! and HAVE FUN with the process. You will learn a lot about yourself and your partner during this journey. Journal your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, and try to relax. Think about this time as being part of pregnancy, everything you do now is part of making a cozy, comfy, healthy home for your baby... what you do now counts just as much as what you do when you are pregnant!
