So, hubby and I have been ttc for almost 10 months now with 1 mc. This weekend is my birthday and I am almost positive that hubby has a huge party planned for me. I am also more than positive that he is going to want me to drink. So my question is: What do you ladies think about drinking while you are ttc? I am on the fense about it and I know it may sound silly. I guess my main concern is that ovulation is suppose to be 3 days before that night. I appreciate your responses!
I didn't drink while I was TTC... but then again we only had to try for a short time. I would think that it's okay, just don't overdo it JUST INCASE. You never know.:) Happy birthday and lots of baby dust!
I would think that a few drinks one night would be ok. I don't drink while ttc either but I would probably make an exception for my birthday :-) Happy Birthday!

Although alcohol isn't a good idea when planning a pregnancy....I conceived my first 2 children after having 2 drinks (both weddings). My OBGYN said I probably got preggo so fast because the alcohol becomes a blood thinner which made my uterus more vascular which prepared it for implantation....So I'm not sure....maybe one drink couldn't hurt.......Anyway, Happy birthday and Good Luck!!!!
i never drank while ttc either. over the 3 years we tried there were maybe 2 or 3 times i drank, and it was only a little bit, and always before ovulation. i just never did after ovulation because i always thought, "well if the egg fertilized and is trying to implant, i dont want to put anything in my system that could harm it. its your call though.

Okay all the literature says to avoid it if you are having trouble. My story is that DH and I quit drinking 2 years ago. But I hit a TTC road block a couple weeks ago and just kind of freaked out. I realized that I was feeling really penned in by everything we were doing, and not having any fun. So I started drinking again but DH didnt. The key factor to TTC is to RELAX and have some FUN. Sooo I think that you should enjoy yourself this weekend! The key is to hydrate yourself well, beforehand and after. Make sure you eat plenty of protein the day before, the day of and the day after. High fat protein absorbs alcohol. Eat lots of greens too (maybe drink some Odwalla green juice and eat lots of salads) to balance your body acidity and flush out your liver.
Remember, "Everything in moderation, including moderation" LOL
I don't believe a drink or two is a "HORRIBLE" thing ... you're not pregnant yet. Not like you need to get wasted but having a couple drinks may help relax you and you can stop worrying so much and maybe the lower stress level will result in a pregnancy.. You're not on your 2ww... I have a glass of wine now and then. I'm not a big drinker to begin with but worrying about should I or shouldnt I drink is only going to make ur stress level rise..

I drank 2 nights before conceiving Tyler. I knew it worked as a blood thinner but I never even thought about alcohol actually helping. Interesting... lol
I say go for it if there is absolutely no chance you are already pregnant. Don't try to conceive that night though...!!
with my oldest, a week before getting my bfp i got wasted!! I didnt know i was pregnant and we werent trying to get pregnant, two days before i got my bfp with my second i got wasted i had tested the day i got wasted and it was neg it was my bday and haha i had fun.
