My husband and I have gone through seven fertility treatments. We start doing IVF and usually the cycle gets changed to IUI because I do not produce enough eggs. My husband does not have male factor but after so many attempts at getting pregnant our budget is slowly depleting. We thought about getting an egg donor but it is so expensive. We do not have any children. I am 32 n my husband is 30. We have been working towards adopting through the state. We started our MAPP classes in August of 2009 and still our social worker has not completted our home study. I am ready to have a baby now. It is so hard to continue trying with no success.
So our doctor told me to look into embryo adoption. They do not do it through our clinic but will do the transfer. Can you please tell me where I need to go and what I need to do to find a donor. I need hope.
I know a couple in SC that just had a beautiful baby boy through embryo adoption. I do not know any contact information or where you are located, but I agree with pp about the online searches.
I used to work in Social Services and I can tell you, adopting through the state is a very, very slow and long process. Even if a child is removed from a parent at birth, it would be over a year before the state could consider making the child available for adoption and that is after the parent has made absolutely no progress toward meeting the requirements and there are NO family members willing to care for the child. I don't mean to upset you and I am sorry if I did, but I don't think it is fair that states don't make this clear to potential adoptive parents. MAPP and home studies are for becoming foster parents, it is rare that turns into adoption.
I do wish you the best with the embryo adoption!!
