Hey ladies! The 11th we go for our first infertility appt. For some background info.. This is our 15th month of trying, the past two months we've had chemical pregnancies (in all honesty I don't think these have been the only months we've had chemical pregnancies hind sight is always 20/20), no trouble getting pregnant with our son almost 3 yrs ago now.. I do track things through opks ( This is the only method we've used because I didn't want to get overwhelmed adding stress to the trying situation) My question is: What information should we take? And what normally happens at the first appointment?

When I went for mine. We mostly talked about the things I have been doing the tests they could do. Then he told me to try different things like preseed, sex every other day, bbt, Clomid and possibly checking dh count. Mostly he said it depended on us and how aggressive we wanted to be. I relaxed after talking with him and got pregnant before having to do anything invasive, however we mced at the end Jan. So we are starting over. Good luck.

My cousin miscarried 5 times before the doctor figured out she had low progesterine.  Once she started taking a supplement, she was able to keep the pregnancy.  Her son turned a year old last November.  I don't know if that is the case for you, but it might be worth asking about.

Thanks I was actually wondering if that were the case for me.. because we CAN get pregnant we just can't seem to get it to stick so to speak

My first appointment for infertility theyt gave me a whole packet a few weeks before hte appointment and told me to brin it back when i had a chance before the appointment which we did. We never had to get my husband tested because we knew the problem didn't lie with him he had kids from a previous marriage. where as i had no kids and a very irregular cycle of maybe onceevery 6 months. So far they have tested my progesterone level. and that told them mainly what they needed to know. I took with me tho to my first appointment a paper i'd written up outlining my cycles for the last 15 years as much as i could remember. Other then that i wasn't requiredto bring anything. I only took that because i felt it was important for them to know how irregular my cycles were. Which it gave them a starting basis, TO figure out why i wasn't haveing a normal monthly cycle. Which the progesterone blood tests  have told them i am not ovulateing which leads to lack of a ccyle

I heard that progesterone can help the lining of your uterus thicker to help pregnancies stick.. did they say anything about that?

After we just had our 2nd mc we saw a specialist to see if the was anything we could do to make the next one stick, he basically said no and when I asked about my progesterone he said that they could not check it and he said no when I asked about taking it. I go to my reg ob next week and I am going to ask him.
