My level when they first took them were 558 and I was about 5-6 wks pregnant. They haven't taken them since and I'm now 16 wks 2 days =) . They said there's no need to check more then once. Once the pregnancy is confirmed by blood test then you set up your prenatal appointments.

If you have had a lot of trouble getting pregnant or have had miscarriages, often times doctors will not just check for a positive pregnancy test (just like the home pregnancy tests) but they will order an HCG level to make sure that your body is producing enough hcg to have a healthy pregnancy.  They often check more than once during your early pregnancy to make sure your levels are doubling like they are supposed to.  It really doesn't matter much as long as your doctor is worried about something.

During my first 4 pregnancies, I never knew my hcg levels.

When I was 13 DPO I was at 15, then at 15 DPO I was at 50. I haven't had anymore tests since then though.
