If you go into a doctor/labor and delivery, and demand you be induced (mind you mother is 39 weeks, leaking amniotic fluid with high blood pressure and epilepsy). Will they? Do they have to?

To my knowledge, they don't have to. Unless your doctor or a doctor there feels its best. Usually high blood pressure warrants delivery early. At 39 weeks I don't see the problem. Also with leaking amnio fluid I would assume they would deliver. Make sure they check for that. They told me if my fluid was leaking they would deliver. Best of luck.

Good luck! Just have them check you and explain what's going on. I don't think they have to do anything unless your dr requests it or the on call dr feels its best and then they will call your dr and talk to her/him about the situation.
Good luck! Post pictures of the little one after arrival! Xoxo!

Just depends on the OB.  I developed high BP at 35 weeks and they induced me at 39 weeks, but if I didnt have that condition they would of let me go overdue...my OB told me.

They don't have to, but if her medical condition is so bad that it requires it (best for mommy and baby) then they will.  Considering what oyu have said, it sounds like she has at least a fair chance at it.  Her baby is old enough :)

good luck!

How do you know its amniotic fluid ? if you go into labor and delivery they have a dip stick that will tell them its your water and will most likely induce you so you dont get an infection. It wouldnt hurt to go in and see buuuut you cant demand it most wont untill 42 weeks now.

From my expierence those tests aren't always accurate. I was seen in my doctors office in the morning, 2 tests said I was leaking fluid. Was sent to labor and delivery and because I didn't "cough" enough their test said negative. Went home and within a few hours my water was fully broke. My obgyn said it was due to not coughing enough as I was honestly scared that I would pee myself.

If you are in distress they will take the baby but not just because you want them too sorry momma, I just asked a nurse who works in L and D and a friend.. that is what she said.

She has been highly stressed. Her reg OB knows this. She was the one that wants to schedule to induce but all the "specialists" don't communicate and can't come up with a consistant due date, because of this her wonderful (Medi-cal) county medical says its "not a neccessity" (sp?) .... its got everyone worried. She's too scared to leave the house in case something happens!

And yes. They know its amniotic fluid. The dipstick came up +++ and so did the micro exam. But they say a (now) 15% loss is not enough! They won't reassess induction or c-section until after JULY 25th!!!!!!!
