Do you tell people your TTC?

After we decided to start trying, I was so excited. We decided we weren't going to tell people. Except for my mom and his brother and wife. Only because his brother and brothers wife are our best friends. We don't want his mom asking every time we talk to them if we're pregnant yet. They already hound us enough about a second baby and when we are going to try again. I can't imagine if they knew we were trying. My mother and BIL and SIL aren't going to tell anyone. I was just wondering how you all felt about telling people or not?

The closer members of our family know, but we haven't told everyone for the same reason you haven't told your MIL.  I think it's a personal choice and has a lot to do with the type of personalities the people you're telling have.  My mom is the only one who asks how it's going with the whole process, and if I'm not in a mood to talk about it I just don't answer my phone (she lives 1800 miles away).  I've learned with her if I just call to get a status report once in a while (or email so I don't get another 20 questions) then that kind of chills her out.  GL and babydust!

No because if it takes a while I def don't want sympathy. That and this would be our third and sadly in our family more than 2 is unheard of. Guess they will just have to accept it once I'm pregnant.

Yeah, everybody knows. We had a mc in march, so we've been ttc ever since.

I have not told my mom because she is already like when are you two going to give e a grandson or grandaughter to spoil? So i havent told her but i have told one friend because i was really down one month because i got a BFN and was really upset and i couldnt hide it from her but i dont like tellin many people because I would feel pressure and like you said i dont want them to be like r u pregers yet?

We told some people back when we first started to TTC... then we changed our minds about TTC for a while.  When we decided to move forward again, we decided NOT to tell people this time.  Telling people is what caused us to question the decision... so we decided to focus on what WE want and not what others think.  (We are TTC #4 right now, and people are not as supportive of that.)

i'd say 50/50.  Pepole i'm close to know.  It's stressful when others know... cause they keep asking, "are you prego yet?" That gets annoying.

Some people know, but we've been ttc #3 for 2 years. We don't discuss it with very many people outside our family and me here on CM.

That is another reason I don't want to tell everyone. If it takes a long time, I don't want everyone giving me advice on seeing a specialist or whatever. And I don't want the "aww, keep trying, sorry its taking so long" pep talk.
