Has anyone had this test done? The purpose of it is to assure that the inside od the uterus (uterine cavity) is of normal size and shapeand theres no abnormalities!

I've heard that a couple people have done this and its like flushing out your tubes and then they get pregnant? Do you know anyone with any such luck??

I had this done prior to my IVF cycle.  I actually had it done twice.  The first doctor that did it was an absolute idiot and it felt like she was scrambling eggs in my insides.  But when my IVF RE did it, I didn't feel a single anything.  It was very simple.  The hardest part was getting the cath in since my uterus is rear facing.  And it was really weird that they strap a trash bag under your booty on the table to catch the saline when it drips back out.  But it was quick and very minimal discomfort.  Afterwards, I was a little crampy and had to wear a pad to catch excess saline that dripped out.  Minimal spotting that afternoon too.  No worries though.  Easy procedure.  I have also had an hsg and I can say that by far the hsg was worse for me.

Good luck!!!

Let me just say, that the doctor that did the first one was not my normal OB and she had never seen me before.  She was pissed because my RE was having her do the procedure and she didn't want to.  So she was taking it out on me.  That is why it was painful with her, but not because the procedure itsself, which was nothing.

HSG is the flushing of the tubes.  I had mine done July 1st, ovulated didn't conceive but concieved on the next cycle. Studies show that some woman become pregnant up to 4 months after thi test.

This procedure is different than an HSG.  This is to check the uterine cavity and not the tubes.  Here is more info on it.
