Brand New and TTC

Hi all. I'm brand new here and actually not a mom. My husband and I have been TTC for three years. We live in a relatively small town with no fertility specialist but I did just find a doctor who does some fertility treatments and tests. Do any of you have any idea what I should expect?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the group!

What have you been doing up to now?  Have you tried charting your temps & CM?

What kind of treatments does the doctor do?

I see you are in MN from your name.  I am, too, I live in Marshall.  tomorrow I am actually driving to Sioux Falls to see a RE, although I found out last week that the one procedure I think I really need (the hsg) is done here.  So I have that scheduled for Wednesday since its a good time in my cycle for that.

:) I'm actually in Idaho. MN are my middle and last initials. Haven't tried much so far aside from sex. Did take Vitex for a while. Have done some ovulation testing but that's it.

Good luck with your testing!

GUess I shouldn't have assumed anything! LOL  Kind of like how MB are my initials for my middle & maiden name.

I would suggest charting your temps & CM in addition to using the opks.  Charting your temps confirms if you are ovulating & can really give you a ton of info on your cycle.  Fertilityfriend.com and tcoyf.com are good sites for online charting, FF has a good guide to get started.  I would also suggest the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility as it has a ton of info on charting, getting pregnant & troubleshooting your cycle.  I would really encourage you to get it since you've been ttc for so long, you may find things out that help you get pregnant.

So, I had my doctor appointment today. They did some blood work, scheduled an ultrasound for next week to look at my ovaries, and scheduled a surgery for a month for today. It's likely that I have endometriosis so they will go in to confirm and hopefully fix it. I'm very very nervous.
