Can placental detachment lead to a miscarriage?

Ya but u can also have a fine pregnancy, my cousin had some detachment and carried a healthy ds gl

I had a tear at 8 Wks. Caused a threatened miscarriage at 13 Wks but I have a healthy ds.

I really don't know :( I guess if they don't do anything about it (not sure wat they can do) it would either continue to detatch or it would stop and you'd (hopefully) be on bedrest for the remainder of your pregnancy.

If the placenta completely detaches... the baby will die  in utero because his lifeline is gone. If it's a minor detachement the pregnancy will be monitored VERY closely. If the detachement is severe and if the baby is viable, then they will usually deliver.

if its a big tear, yes acan lead to m/c...but some go on to have healthy preg if tear small

I had this happen and it started at 24 weeks. I only carried 10 more weeks before I delievered.

It can kill both you and the baby. It is very serious issue. 

I  had bright red blood gushes a couple times a day and bled pretty much for the last 10 weeks I was pregnant I went to the ER allot of times and they did a US and found nothing. It wasn't found until after I gave birth and the DR was pissed. I should of had a C section.

Luckily my son and I turned out to be fine.
