My cousin had her baby at 25 weeks, that was Saturday mid morning. She had been bleeding off and on since she was 6 weeks and many times early in the pregnancy, the drs kept telling her she was miscarrying, only to find out the baby was fine in future ultrasounds. She went from 20-25 weeks with NO bleeding and then last Thurs night she started bleeding and contracting. They put her on magnesium and gave her shots of steriods to help develop the baby's lungs incase they had to deliver early. They kept taking her off and putting her back on the magnesium because it was making her so sick. Finally Sat mid morning, they decided to take the baby while it was still active and HE (Silas) was born weighing in at 2.1 lbs and 13.5" which is big for a 25 weeker AND as of last night, he was breathing on his own already!! I haven't seen any pics yet. They live in OH (8 hrs from me) but they're probably also waiting til he looks more like a human lol. I'm sure he's precious as can be but let's face it, a 25 weeker looks quite interesting. I'm so glad to hear he's doing so well right now and we pray he continues to develop and grow so they can bring him home in 10 weeks.

Wow, he sounds like a fighter! Great size for a 25 weeker too. Praying for him and the family!
Praying for them right now. He sounds like he is doing wonderfully, considering such an early delivery. It's great that he's on the big side for his age and really encouraging that he's already breathing on his own. What a strong little boy!
Definitely thinking about that little guy!!! I sure hope he's in a fantastic NICU ward! I cannot imagine what she's going through and I hope baby pulls through :) :)
WOW that is big and healthy for only 25wks
It sounds like he's a healthy little boy and a fighter!
My prayers are with him and his family
