I'm 32 years old and pregnant with our 3rd baby.  I have 2 boys 5 and 3 right now that will be 6 and 4 when this new baby comes.  I'm hoping for a girl this time but will be happy with a health boy as well.  This will be our last child and I'm excited to be a stay at home mom with this one.  I went back to work when I had my boys but have been a stay at home mom since March of last year.

we dont' want or can afford to have any more kids and i have been thinking about having my tubes tied when I have my repeat c-section.  Anyone else thinking of having this done or have know someone who had it done?

I have talk to my doctor about it a little and he told me that he actually removes the tubes.

Thanks for your feed back.

I think this is a very personal issue and you need to be 100% sure. A friend of mine said no more after 3 kids and is now pregnant with her 4th and it was a planned baby and after her third she was adamant about not having any more

I agree with you.  that is why I'm kind of on the fench.  but my hubby knows for sure he doesn't want anymore.  He will be 39 when this baby comes.  This will also be my 3rd c-section and I'm not sure I should really try for 4.

I had my tubes tied after my 4th child. I wasn't sure and in 2009 (7 yrs later), our financial situation changed and wanted more...so in 2010 I had a reversal done. I am currently almost 6weeks with possible twins. But my tubes weren't removed completely.

It's a personal choice. Just know its a drastic move with consequences to your body that the doctors never tell u about (PTLS, Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome). Please look into it and fully be informed before you make a decision you may later regret.

I'm getting mine tied after this one. This will be my 3rd c-section and my dr won't do more than 3 so this will be IT! I thought I was done after 2 but decided one more would be ok, but definately, we'd have to stop at 3. So our plan is to have my tubes tied right after this baby is born.

No,no,no! There is a whole group of us who are TTC after having our Tubal Ligations reversed. I had my TL done when I was 21. I am now 31 and it hurts so bad wishing that I could go back in time.  I regretted it very soon after having it done.

I would never use a doc that removes the whole tube. At least if you decide to have it done find a doc  that uses bands or clamps. Those are the easiest to reverse.  http://www.tubal-reversal.net/  I would go here and read about what reversal entails. You need to be totally informed.

I know right now you feel like you know what you want but believe me there are tons of us who can attest to the fact that that can change!
