IUI Question

I had my first IUI yesterday and having another tomorrow. This morning I found brown discharge in my underwear...

Wondering if anyone else experienced a change in discharge a day or so after an IUI? Is this normal? The nurse said it could be but made me nervous....

Weird to think that I might be concieving a baby without my husband even being in the room!

thanks!

Yes, it's absolutely normal. I had it most of the time (and I had 10 all together). Good luck!!

The iui catheter could have made your cervix bleed a bit. I've heard it is pretty normal. Good luck!

Thanks ladies! I had my second IUI today and it was VERY painful bc apparently my cervix was closed so they couldn't get the catheder through for about 10 minutes and then I had severe cramping and bleeding afterwards.

I really hope this will be it and I won't have to experience that again....

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'm thinking you might've not Od anymore, and maybe that's why your cervix was closed? Not sure why they forced it.  I hope it will all be worth it and you get your BFP!!! Good luck!!

Yeah i was sure that it meant that I had finished ovulating so I asked the nurse if it was too late and she said it was perfect timing...dunno.

I just REALLY do not want to go through that ever again... let's hope this was the last time!!

I know drs and nurses know better, but sometimes makes me wonder if they just say things not to upset us. When I had my chemical and called the Dr's office the nurse told me that I probably just had the flu or something, that I wasn't having pregnancy symptoms....haha, are you kidding me? I wasn't born yesterday... Anyways. I do hope that you don't have to go through it again. It sounds like it was very painful. Most of the time they had to dilate me too, but I guess they had an easier time to do that. It was painful, but not unbearable, but the last 3-4 IUIs they didn't need to dilate at all. Good luck to you and please keep us updated :)))

From what I've read, it's normal. Sometimes the catheter can irritate the cervix when going through it. This can cause the spotting.
