So I was pregnant and the pregnancy stopped developing at 5 weeks though the gestational sac grew to about 7 weeks. I still didn't start regular bleeding (very light clots) until 11 weeks 3 days. That was on May 22. By the end of that week, I ended up with heavy bleeding, because of which I was admitted to the hospital overnight for excessive blood loss and was released the next day. A few days after I came home, around May 31, the bleeding had stopped. I just want to make some sense of things and think see what you all think so I'll put my beta levels thus far and try getting some input to try to stay sane.
History: Had a miscarriage at 5w5d March 27, 2008, conceived my daughter 2 weeks later and carried her to term.
May 22: Bleeding starts at 11w3d
May 24: Beta level approx. 12000.
May 27: Beta level approx. 1300.
May 31: Bleeding completely stops.
Late night/early morning June 6/7: VERY strong o pain in both ovaries, but mostly right side.
June 5: HPT very very faint +, not sure if leftover hormone or new hormones
June 7: Light spotting just once, light pink only when wiped. (Maybe o spotting???e s)
Last night and today (which would be approx 8-9 dpo if I did o then) I've been an irrational emotional mess, over the stupid things, very stupid things, like sour gummy worms, and I've had irrational food cravings again. And extreme fatigue.
Doctor did another beta today and said he'd call with the results on Monday, if they were less than 5, then I'd be free to just call him back whenever I get another positive hpt. If not, he'd check my level next week and we'd both hope that the numbers were going up and that I had conceived again. I'm just not sure since my levels dropped SO quickly those first two tests, even though they were only a couple days apart. Surely my levels would be low enough to not show up on a HPT by now. I don't want to get my hopes up, but I mean, I did conceive 2 or less weeks after I miscarried my first pregnancy. I don't know, I mean, I still have hope, right? Would it be stupid of me to pick up some cheapy hpt and see if the line gets lighter or darker?
UPDATE 6/18: Got a call this morning from my favorite nurse at my OB office. Says my beta level from Friday was 45. The sensitivity of the test I took last Wednesday was 25 and it was quite faint, but very obviously positive. IDK what I'm supposed to take away from this but I know that I've got another beta draw on Friday, so I'll update then. Either way, whether my numbers increase or decrease, I'll be happy, because if they increase, well, that's surely a positive sign, and if they decrease, I'm one step closer to a normal cycle.
Quoting alynna86:It definitely wouldn't be stupid! If it happened once, it could happen again. Good luck to you!!
Ugh, I'm not letting myself test until after I hear what the doctor says tomorrow, but geez I woke up this morning and went to go pee and thought as I was peeing "THIS IS THE MOST PERFECT FMU EVER. I NEED A TEST FOR THIS SHIT!"
God I hope the doctor calls me earlier in the day. So I can save my pee for a test. Because if he says that my hormone levels are above 5, you can bet your ass I'm testing to see if it is darker than the test last wednesday. Actually, I should probably test anyway, that way when he calls, I can tell him that it is darker. IDK lol
