My beautiful bundle was born may 31st at 2am! It was a much easier labor than my first nightmare of a birth.
I had my regular 38 week checkup that afternoon at 11 and my OB said I was 3.5 cm dilated and fully effaced and she jokingly told me not to make any plans that night. Before dinner my husband, myself and our three year old decided to take a walk to the park and me being so impatient to go into labor I suggest we go to the park further away (trying to get that labor started!) by the time we got home contractions were in full swing and my family barely had time to scarf down dinner before we whisked away to labor and delivery.
The contractions wern't really all that strong but they were close enough together that I felt it was time to go (it was 7 at night) but in the back of my head I didn't really think it was time so when my midwife checked me and said "oh boy let's break this water" I was shocked. We had to scramble to find a sitter for our son which meant my husband and to drop him off and drive around leaving my in labor for a couple hours.
All in all the contractions were not all that bad to I turned down the epidural, but boy around midnight they kicked up pretty bad. I spent most the time bouncing on the ball and taking showers and around 2 I told the nurse that the pressure was too much and I had to push, she casualty walked away to get my midwife and I'm thinking "I've done this before I know when it's time to push.." when they checked me the head was already fully engaged and three pushes and she was out!
Beautiful 8lb 10oz Nathalie was born and I couldn't be more in love. She is quiet and calm and very serious unlike my son!
I want to thank all of you ladies for your support when I was TTC you really saved me from many meltdowns after BFN's and I hope that all of you get what you all want as well. As for me...I'm done!
