That I'm currently working on the Lifespan and Development course of my RN program and tonight's chapter is Genetics, Prenatal Development and Childbirth!

See I've been enrolled in this online program for almost 2 years now and haven't been working on it.  Pretty much because this course sucks and is so boring and confusing!  And you have to complete one to move on to the next course.

But I made a deal with the hubby that if he'd agree to have another baby, I'd get off my butt and finish the program so I can make almost double what I make now.  So last night, I got busy and completed the first chapter, tonight is chapter 2!

Looks like the more things change, the more they stay the same.  My kids were my motivation to go to nursing school in the first place, now here we are again, another baby and another school program!

What do you find yourself motivated to do by kids, or the plans/hopes for kids?

It's funny how all the states hve different titles! Here in Arkansas I'm a Licensed Practical Nurse but my best friend is in Texas, we went through school together and she's a Licensed Vocational nurse!

Quoting krystyneh:

Yeah that's what I was thinking lol I had my LNA (same as a CNA but instead of a certification I actually had a license which is how Vermont does it for some reason) when I got pregnant with my daughter then I got Hurt on the job so they are paying for most of my medical assistant degree. It's definitely worth going back to school :)

Quoting mkmommy0406:

Oooohhh!!! You could do social work with a medical and criminal justice background! I started out as a CNA and my kids were 3 and 5 when I went through school. it was hard but I ha to do it for them.

My 4 1/2 year old daughter keeps me motivated. I'm in college getting my medical assistant degree first then my LPN then RN then I want to go back and get my criminal justice degree lol

Well, I just don't want to end up like my parents.. They seem so unhappy with their lives and never tried to do anything more. I'm currently in my junior year of college working towards my bachelors in Human Resource Management. I want a better life for my kids and to set an example for them.

I did excelsior! I absolutely loved it. I used another prep type learning thing for my RN called RUE. They way that one worked was it was a flat fee for all materials. When you paid it off you were done. I did the same as you and procrastinated with my RN. Then I got my BSN through just excelsior (no test prep) in 9 months!

Good luck with everything! Sometimes all it takes is to get a bug up your butt and you can slam those tests out really fast! (I know I did!) let me know if you have questions or anything!

It's a work-at-your-own-pace LPN to RN program at Excelsior University through The College Network.  My husband can't stand that we pay almost $200 a month for the program but I haven't been working on it!  LOL!

Quoting cnlsmommy:

What school are you using? I did I program like that!
