TTC - Trying to Conceive TTC - Trying to Conceive

Femara round #1 coming up in December, anyone with me?

So we've been TTC since June 2010. We've done 4 rounds of Clomid with 2 O's and no BFP with the last round being in April 2012. I was disappointed since I lost 72 pounds between Nov '11-March '12 and was told weight loss would for sure get me pregnant by one OBGYN and 2 RE's.

Fast forward to September 2012 and I had enough. I made an appointment with an RE 2 1/2 hours away and in one visit we were swept off our feet. Since then I've had blood tests galore. My CD 3 bloodwork came back PERFECT and now we're waiting to do Femara round #1 and my RE is convinced that timed intercourse is all we'll need since it looks like our only fertility issue is my PCOS, secondary amenohrrhea, and anovulation, once I ovulate consistently it'll be a matter of time before I get pregnant.

I'm anxious because I was to give my body every chance to conceive. I'm also optimistic that we've found our solution. Anyone else doing Femara round #1 or have done Femara already? What was your experience?

Im on round 4 of Letrozole/Femara.....it does help me ovulate(along with hcg trigger shots).  I was also told weight loss would help me. I lost 60 pounds, and still have yet to have a cycle without letrozole.  I could stand t lose more, but thats neither here nor there.  My fertility issues are also hereditary(My mom and grandmother both had problems concieving their first children).

I like the letrozole(Femara). I dont get any noticable side effects. Along with with trigger shots my cycles are now 31-33 days..more regulated than the twice a year periods...

Good luck!!!

There are definitely fertility issues on my mom's side, but none as severe as mine with the PCOS. I'm just glad I finally got some answers about my body since every other doctor I saw refused to take me seriously and blood test me. I wasted so many months getting nowhere, but I'm ready for the future.

I'm glad Femara is making you O. That's half the battle for some of us. I have the option of using a trigger shot, what are the side effects like?

I'm right in the middle of my first femara cycle. Did the trigger shot last night! And am so nervous/anxious/excited! Tuesday I start progesterone & baby aspirin. After all of this, I hope we get pregnant, we can test around thanksgiving.
I have PCOS, but am a normal weight, so I don't have experience there, also no one in my family has PCOS, so I'm just unlucky. My sister has a baby every year, and I can't get pregnant to save my life.
Good luck with femara! I had mild hot flashes and a lot of aching in my ovaries. But no mood swings like clomid.

I've never done femera, but 72lbs weight loss is amazing! Congratulations on that. And good luck & baby dust.

It wasn't confirmed by my RE, but I've read numerous times online that women with pcos respond really well to Clomid.

Good luck to you this cycle!

Don't get me starter on fertile sisters! I'm alone with not being able to get pregnant.

I hope this is your bfp cycle! How many mg did you take?

I took 5 mg from cd 3-12. And 1500 mg extended release metformin. It's an aggressive treatment plan but I did produce some nice big follicles, so it worked in that regard.
What is the plan for your cycle in December? Are you doing a trigger shot? Ultrasounds?

Go you for losing all of that weight! I won't be joining you but wanted to jump in and say good luck. I took 3 rounds of Clomid, with no success. Got pregnant on the second round of Femara... and then this round, I got pregnant first try with Femara. I had hot flashes as a side effect, but no big deal. with Clomid I had every symptmo in the book and then some, it was awful.
