First Response it a pink dye test. I'm not sure why, but the blue dyes tend to have the reputation as giving false positives when testing early in your cycle (before AF is due, usually). I kinda wonder if it's because it detects pregnancy earlier, causing more BFPs with chemical pregnancies?

I only use the Dollar Store tests now. They're pink dye. I've tried Equate and Target brand and they were all defective.

Blue due tests have very clear, blue evaps that can be confusing. I've probably seen 100's of blue dye tests with a line that looks positive but were evaps over the years.
As well as my own.
I use Dollar Tree tests. Red dye only.

in all my pregnancies I've never known this. I heard it yesterday after I got a very faint positive on a blue dye test. I was so upset. took a pink dye test today and got another super faint positive. took my blue dye test six hours later and got a dark bfp. I'll be taking another pink dye tomorrow morning!

Pink dye tests are better because when they are negative its clear...even with an evap line (where your pee evaporates on the line and can collect dust or whatever) that line turns grayish

With a blue dye test it is SO hard to tell if the line is a blue positive or a gray evaporation line

I've got to be honest, I've never had issues with the blue dye tests. The first time I used them, I got positives back and thought I was getting evaps.. But they weren't. I checked with a FRER later that day and got a positive. *shrugs* Just make sure you read them in the alloted time.
