I chose the date..we married on 07/07/07. A date he will never 4get.
How did I plan decorations? Haha I started attending wedding shows this year and just found random ideas I liked and also Pinterest is a great place!
So we are having a rustic spring country wedding. Our colors are aqua and peach. Spring flowers with a focus on white, ivory and peach roses. Our venue...it's not based on our theme. It's based on my grandma and her health and getting her around. So it's at our community center and we are having both ceremony and reception there.
If you have more questions feel free to ask! Our budget is $5000
we lived in Hawaii so we knew we had the perfect location. We planned out wedding for the end of may because that's when our family would be able to fly in to attend. Soon as he popped the question we started planning. Many great venues are booked way in advance so its best to book your venue soon as you decide a date and where you want it to be held. We booked the hale koa which is a hotel on the beach in Honolulu. I booked it in nov and the only day it was open was 1 weekday in the evening so i had to take it. It was fully booked for a year in advance. We also had to plan way ahead of time because hawaii is a destination wedding so people needed to plan time to come out. So maybe im not too much help sorry :)
We started discussing right away. We got engaged at the end of September and DH was deploying to Afghanistan the end of January so we moved quickly. We live in NY - my family lives in MO - his family lives in ID. So we knew it was going to be a hassel no matter what. So - we picked a location that was cheap for everyone to fly and stay in a hotel - VEGAS. It was an easy decision. As for dates - the army picked it lol. He had a 5 day weekend for Thanksgiving. he wasnt allowed to take any extra time off for a honeymoon so we flew out there the first day - got married the next day and spent the rest of the vaca on a "honeymoon in venice - we stayed at the venitian". We didnt go to the White Chapel or anything. It was a real chapel with a real church and about 30 people showed up etc.
