Do you see a male or female doctor?

I have had the same obgyn since I was 16 which is a male. Well today i had to make an appointment with a different clinic since my original is booked till mid May. The lady asked me if I prefer a male or female. I told her it didn't matter and she informed me I could see one of the male doctors Monday but would have to wait till the end of the month for a female. Are women mostly picking female doctors because they feel more comfortable being examed by a another women or do you feel they are more knowledgable? I was just really curious. Myself personally I don't have a preference but like I said I have seen a male for 8 years.

Female, I am more comfortable with female doctors as I feel they are more compassionate. That is just me though=)

I've never had a Pap smear yet... I went to a male dr last year but didn't need it yet (I was a good girl lol) he was very nice. But I made an appointment with a female dr because she's at the hospital I want to deliver at and she came highly recommended. Mom said guys are better cause they are more gentle lol.

My gyno has always been a female since 19 and that's been 13 yrs. I picked a female because I felt more comfortable with one. Once I started going to the RE that was over because both have been males so far. Also all clinics I have ever been to there is always a wait for females.

Being a "good girl" or not has nothing to do with pelvic exams. Cancer doesn't care if you're good or not. I hope you have one scheduled soon since you're TTC.

I do not see an MD unless it is needed (such as a specialist)

I only see Nurse Practioners or Midwives. Just my two cents......
