Anyone have PCOS success without metformin

I tested BFP on December 23 but my doctor  did not schedule any other testing until an ultrasound this Friday. I had a blighted ovum in October and this was my first  cycle of injectable with IUI but now I am so worried about another blighted ovum. I DO NOT take metformin and had a PCOS specialist tell me it was the only thing that could help PCOS pregnancy not end in miscarriage. Has anyone had success without metforim or went on to success after starting it?

I have PCOS pretty severely! I am lucky to have one cycle a year. I had 3 babies without metformin. It took lots of trying, lots of time, and God's help! When TTC #4 my Dr said if I ever wanted another I needed Metformin. I went on it and after a few cycle my hair began falling out! Around the same time I found out I was pregnant after 2 1/2 yrs of TTC. I immediately stopped the Metformin (around 6 wks) against my Drs orders but after doing lots of my own research! I swear it effected my body in many ways and I and my Midwife believe it was the reason I delivered a 10 lbs baby compared to my 7 lbers. I will never go on it again, but lots of women swear by it. Just do lots of research and make your own educated decision. Drs are great but all in all they take everything they know to make the same educated decision! And they aren't always right!

I did iui with my son with femara and injection and i was on metformin but the re took me off once i found out i was pregnant had no issues. I too have pcos. My son is 1 on the 25th and i got a suprise im 8 weeks along no fertility help at all. I do take my metformin right now but i know they usually take you off around 20 weeks i think. I will ask my ob next wed after my ultrasound. Before my son i had a blighted ovum while doing clomid, wasn't on metformin then but dont think it has anything to do with my blighted ovum cause i have progestrone issues i take suppositories so.im sure your fine. Congrats!

My first 2 pregnancies were lost to miscarriage. That was before I knew I had pcos, and I wasn't on metformin. Now I'm on metformin (and a list of other prescriptions) and I'm in my 11th week of pregnancy! That's longer than my first 2 pregnancies combined!
