My Son Gags himself.. I don't know why, do you?

My Son is 14 going on 15 months old. Whenever we go somewhere in the car I have to give him a bottle because otherwise he would cry the entire way to whereever we are going.. But lately he has been gagging himself with his fingers a while after he drinks his bottle, yesterday he made himself puke. I don't know why he does it. My thoughts were maybe he feels too full and gagging makes his stomach feel better, or he does it for attention. Cause when he is done with he bottle he throws it down then cries so if he cries for long enough and no one pays attention he gags himself.  Do i have a bulemic baby or something?? Well I just wanted to see if anyone elses baby does this or am I alone on this one?

Please help! If you can.

He does it because its interesting to him...I did it when I was bored...until I was like 5....my DD does it now and it drives me INSANE.

My daughter will be 3 in April, and she gags herself too...So any advice that you get, will be greart for me as well. Thanks for posting this!!

Lol. It drives me crazy tooo! I am constanly pulling his fingers out if his throat! and telling no! and he just uses his other hand! Then he cries cause he is in trouble! Ugh. Lol. thanks for the reassurance. :)

Well you said he does it when no one pay attention to his throwing and crying, so I am guessing its a last attempt to be like "you better look when I say look!" Did you ask the pedi?

My mom used to slap my hands.  Its really okay..its the sensation they get when they gag.  Its new and exciting to them, and they can control it.  Annoying though haha.

I haven't asked the pedi yet because he has just beeen doing it just lately, but i plan on asking him when I go next time. :)

my son is 12 months and he gags himself. he doesnt do it after he eats, he just does it whenever he wants 2

i have no experience with this, but i did see a post yesterday on the same thing. repliers said that it was normal, just a stage and he should grow out of it in a short while =) he's doing it b/c its a new feeling, he's exploring himself!

I babysat a little girl who would do this when she was upset just because. It was a control issue with her. She eventually outgrew it a few years later.
